Meet Our Trauma and Marriage Therapist

Amy Isom, MA, NCC, LPC - Trauma & Marriage Therapist
Why Made Knew Mental Health?
Amy founded Made Knew Mental Health after seeing the need for more clinically sound, uncompromising, and culturally diverse therapist. Amy's background as a United States Army officer, years in ministry, education background and executive leadership all serves as pillars for the empathetic, yet authentic way she holds space for her clients and anyone she meets.
Licensure and Therapeutic Modality/ Approach
Amy is national board-certified as a licensed professional counselor and clinical psychotherapist practicing in the state of Texas. She is EMDR, CBT, and DBT trained. Amy also holds certifications in SYMBIS and Prepare and Enrich as a marriage facilitator and is Gottman trained. In addition to clinical and biblical counseling, Amy is a certified life and business coach.
Amy empowers her clients to excel in their mental health journey and beyond by helping them sort through limited beliefs and disturbances that continue to impact their quality of life. She does this by equipping her clients with tools and resources that help them better understand their identity, reduce stressors, develop effective communication and coping skills, and better understand the core issue or diagnosis in a simplified and understandable way.
Currently, Amy is seeing clients both in person (North Richland Hills, TX office) and via tele-health all throughout Texas.
Educational Background
Amy is an educator, equipper, advocate, author, speaker, and community builder with over 12 years of experience providing compassionate care.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Texas Tech University with emphasis in social work, psychology and communication studies, a 2nd degree in biblical studies with an emphasis in women and children's ministry, and a master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
A Little about Amy
When Amy has down time, she enjoys it through spending time doing community service work, laughing with loved ones, decorating spaces, writing & reading, antique shop browsing, and riding her bike named Providence!
We consider it such a blessing and an honor to serve you with both dignity and compassion. We look forward to working with you soon.
